After painting abstracts, landscapes, and critters for almost a year, I decided it was time to start painting faces. From the very beginning, I had no interest in painting non-indigenous faces. I wanted to explore the incredible variety of faces offered up by the native peoples of North, Central, and South America. Some of these are rendered realistically, others more abstractly, and still others with a hint of magic about them.
