I started painting landscapes after about six months of painting abstracts. It wasn’t that I was bored with abstracts, it was more like my abstracts were starting to veer into the landscape world. Tackling this subject forced me to sit down and learn more about depth, composition, and how atmospheric haze affects mountains in the distance. Plus, I live on Colorado’s front range, with endless varieties of mountains to look at.
