In order of painting, I tackled animals, beasties, and critters third (after abstracts & landscapes). It turned out that I really loved painting horses and birds, in particular, and in fact, there was one crow (or it might be a raven, not clear) that keeps visiting me in my dreams. Black birds like this are usually seen as significant in indigenous stories, as they are often travelers between this world and the next, or bring omens.
