Ceremony and prayer. A figure stands with arms raised toward a sun that fills the sky — the old gesture, unchanged across thousands of years. The tipi poles, the petroglyph scratches, the dotted horizon line: all of it pointing upward. This is what it looks like to ask something of the universe and mean it.
