Defending a Way of Life

A Mesoamerican warrior, war club raised, sacred symbols woven into the land and sun behind him. His face is grim — this is not a man who takes what he's doing lightly. But there's something else there too: a readiness, almost an eagerness, to play his role. Some people are built for the moment when everything they love needs defending. He is one of those people.
