MMIW

In Canada, Indigenous women are murdered at a rate six times higher than non-Indigenous women. In the United States, the numbers are similarly brutal and similarly underreported. MMIW — Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women — is not a statistic. It is a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend. It is a name that should not be missing.
