Summer Meetup

The gathering season — when families traveled to the high country because that's what you did when the wildflowers came in. You packed up, you made the journey, you found your people. The mountain holds everything in place. The stream finds its way through. The tipis are pitched, the sun is setting behind the peak, and everyone is exactly where they're supposed to be. This is memory and ceremony happening at the same time.
